Chef

  Chef / Nutritionist
One who holds the title of chef has quite a few different general responsibilities related to their professional role. The chef is responsible for overseeing all who work below them in the establishment and ensure that their duties are being carried dietary aideout to the fullest of their potential. The chef will also be responsible for planning the set menu items and any specials as well as provide the recipes in most cases. In addition, the chef is usually responsible for placing food orders and necessary kitchen tool orders in order to enable the preparation of the meals. The Chef works alongside the Nutritionist in planning the correct menu suitable for the patient/residents/Patients.

Dietary Aides do various duties in the kitchen of a health care facility.  This includes reading the menu, placing the correct items on the trays for distribution to the residents/patients, pours juice/water/milk/tea/coffee for the residents/patients and transport food to the unit or dining rooms.
A Dietary Aide checks the Menu for special diets such as diabetic, minced or pureed food, thickened fluids etc.  The Menu is usually prepared by the Nutritionist.
